Gus Fepuleai is Director of Spectrum QS.
His background as a qualified builder gives him a distinct advantage as a quantity surveyor as he has a sound grasp of actual costs to build in today’s market and the risks and challenges involved.
The Fepuleai family emigrated to New Zealand from Samoa in 2004 when Gus was a teenager. After eight years on the tools building residential and commercial projects in Auckland, he completed a Bachelor of Construction, with a double major in Quantity Surveying and Property Development, followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Construction Law at Massey University.

He is a Member of the NZ Institute of Quantity Surveyors and a registered QS who is now sought-after nationwide for his cost management expertise.
His career includes acting as project QS for the developer of the prestigious $40m Country Club Huapai in Auckland; representing Auckland Council as QS for the award-winning Devonport Library; and overseeing construction costs of the $30m Ōtāhuhu Pool and Leisure Centre.
Gus prides himself on his communication, proactive approach and exceptional client service. After working in large QS consultancies for over a decade, Gus now can offer a more tailored, personalised service to the construction industry through Spectrum QS.
He works with banks and non-bank lenders, developers, homeowners and builders to efficiently manage budgets, estimates, variations, draw down reports, cost to complete reports and overall cost management for medium to large-scale construction projects nationwide.
